On the morning of December 8th, a large oil spill caused the north lanes of the I-15 in Draper to shut down. The accident occurred the previous night around 11:15 pm at 14600 South and involved over six vehicles. A semi-truck lost control, detached, and rolled on the freeway, causing 1,500 gallons of crude oil to spill across the lanes. According to Fox 13, the highway was completely shut down for nearly 12 hours as the oil was cleaned up.
