How to Travel Safe With Your Pets This Holiday Season

For some folks, pets are family. We buckle in our kids, but do we think of car safety with our fur babies too? It’s important to consider, especially if you want to avoid an auto accident when you take a trip outside of Salt Lake City.

Some general rules to follow:

Never lock your pet in a hot car, keep them well fed through your travels, out of the front seat, and contrary to popular belief, never let your pet hang out of the window while moving. Any lawyer can tell you that that’s a heartbreaking disaster waiting to happen.

While traveling with felines, keep kitties in the carrier and take frequent bathroom breaks. Also, buckle down the carrier for optimum safety. Don’t let your pets roam wild in the car, and have a puppy buddy (AKA a human partner) in the passenger seat to watch the K9.
