When you’re in Salt Lake City, pump the brakes! What are your driving habits in work zones? If you haven’t been slowing your rocker, check out the toll and importance of work zone safety. In 2014, more than 650 people were killed in work zone traffic related accidents, with more than 30,000 people injured.

29% of those fatalities are attributed to those speeding, and between 2003 and 2010 46% of people killed in work zones involved the driver.

So how can you avoid and prevent a work zone auto accident?

Look around! Do everything by the book, just like a lawyer would. Check for construction signs and workers, put the phone down, drive cautiously in poor weather conditions, slow down and just don’t tailgate. Make sure to give people their space.  You’re in control when you’re behind the wheel, so drive like it.
