There’s no doubt about it, motorcycles are much more dangerous than cars. They’re smaller, harder to see and when you’re riding on one, you don’t have the protection that cars offer in an accident. As soon as you get onto a motorcycle, you’re assuming a risk that otherwise wouldn’t be there if it were an automobile, and it would be smart to keep a lawyer on speed dial.

Statistics don’t lie, a motorcycle accident compared to an auto accident results in a higher number of fatalities. Living in a place prone to winter conditions like Salt Lake City—snow and ice everywhere—puts you at an even higher risk of dangerous road conditions, if you choose to ride year round.

If you’re going to join in the adventure that comes with motorcycles, it’s important to know your risk and take every precaution you can to mitigate it.
