Slimy Companies Responsible for Slippery Workplaces

Slip and fall accidents can happen anywhere, even in sunny St. George, Utah. But it goes without saying that there are some places that pose a greater threat than others. Uneven sidewalks are the most common injury cases outside. Indoor cases can be caused by wet floors, dangerous floor coverings or even slick pool surfaces. However, these aren’t the only dangerous places, just the most common ones.

Unfortunately, many companies are too focused on bolstering their bottom line to care about protecting their employees and patrons. Companies meet the bare minimum safety requirements and only address the most common slip and fall areas, neglecting other dangerous spots.

Areas of Risk Are Underestimated

One study by New Pig suggests that the number of risky zones in the workplace is severely underestimated. Currently, the average workplace identifies zero to three slip and fall risk areas in their facilities.

After surveying a bunch of companies, they found that most workplaces have up to 10 risk-prone areas. That’s right, an average of 70 percent of slip and fall areas aren’t even being recognized. It’s no wonder these accidents are the leading cause of workplace injury.

If you’ve been injured in a slip and fall accident you may have a case, especially if your injury is a result of the negligence from a business or your workplace. Talk to a lawyer here at Robert J. DeBry & Associates. We can help you get the compensation you deserve.

Be an Agent for Change

Companies have an obligation to protect the people working in their facilities. Talking to a lawyer is a good avenue to prompt businesses to provide safer work environments. Talking to a lawyer, believe it or not, can help protect others from suffering your same fate.

If a company has to pay out damages because they neglected to address dangerous slip and fall zones, you can bet they will be making some meaningful changes soon.
