January 16– Early Monday morning in West Valley City, Utah, a semi-truck and an SUV collided, leaving one dead and another critically injured. The semi-truck, transporting fuel, rolled and spilled a significant amount of diesel on the road. The truck driver died on the spot, while the SUV driver was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The accident led to a temporary closure of the 3500 South and the southbound Mountain View Corridor.

January 21– The Utah Highway Patrol team is investigating a fatal crash between a semi-truck traveling westbound and an SUV headed in the opposite direction that left the U.S. Route 6 near Green River closed for hours.
