Growing up, most kids were repeatedly told a plethora of things that seemed like an assault on fun: “Wear a seat belt!” “Don’t run around the pool!” “Wear a helmet!” However, as we got older, most of us realized that mom and dad were right when it came to most of these things. And although mom and dad may not have realized it at the time, they had the statistics to back up their arguments.
