There have been several Hepatitis C outbreaks in the United States as of late, most recently in the state of Utah. Hepatitis C is an infectious disease that attacks the liver and can cause dangerous and potentially fatal consequences for those affected.
Hepatitis C can be contracted by exposure to an infected individual’s blood or bodily fluids, exposure that most commonly occurs through sexual contact or exposure to contaminated needles.
In the case of the recent Utah outbreaks, a hospital nurse was responsible for possibly exposing up to 7,200 patients with the disease. If you or a loved one have been exposed to Hepatitis C at McKay-Dee Hospital or elsewhere, contact your local Salt Lake City drug injury lawyer.
