Texting and driving is a widespread issue across the country. People of all ages and backgrounds text and drive at some point in their lives; in fact, 31 percent of U.S. drivers ages 18–64 admit to texting while driving within the past 30 days.

While texting and driving is undoubtedly prevalent, it is also illegal. All but four U.S. states enforce a ban on texting and driving, which means that drivers from Farmington, Utah to the Eastern Seaboard can be issued a citation for texting and driving — even if they’re not pulled over for another infraction. Follow the law, avoid an auto accident and a call to your lawyer — don’t text and drive.
