Michelle K. Waddoups has been an associate attorney at Robert J. DeBry & Associates since 2012 and employed with the firm since 2010. Michelle is incredibly dedicated to each case she takes on, and, as an active member of the Utah State Bar, she can ensure that clients receive help repairing their lives.
Helping others has always been important in Michelle’s life. Before she pursued a law degree, she successfully managed a childcare center in addition to teaching preschool and school-aged children.
Working as a dispute specialist contributed to Michelle pursuing a law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she received her J.D. in 2010.
While in law school, she served as Secretary of the Student Bar Association. Michelle also worked at the Public Sector Law Project Clinic and was a member of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society and Federal Bar Association.
Michelle received several recognitions while in law school, including the Student Bar
Association Leadership and Service Recognition Award as well as the Public Sector Law Project Service Award.
Before law school, Michelle studied as an undergraduate at the University of Utah, where she was on the Dean’s List and double majored. She received her Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Human Development and Family Studies.
Michelle cares about each individual client and giving them excellent representation, which is why she is part of the American Bar Association, Utah Association for Justice, UAJ Women’s Caucus, American Association for Justice, and The National Trial Lawyers. Michelle thinks that membership in these organizations are important because they are about fighting for individual rights and fair justice for people who have been injured by someone else’s negligence or strict liability conduct. She was honored that her peers awarded her Legal Elite in Utah Business 2020 Legal Elite.
Since working at Robert J. DeBry & Associates, Michelle has focused her practice on injuries from car accidents, wrongful death claims, product liability, and some medical malpractice – successfully settling many cases.
When Michelle is not at work, she enjoys exercising, playing with her Aussiedoodles, planning events, and spending time with family and friends. During the summer, she frequently visits the lake with her family and friends.
