George T. Waddoups, one of the firm’s Senior Attorneys, has practiced law since 1982. Born and raised in Brigham City, Utah, George has enjoyed practicing law in the state of Utah because of the deep sense of community he feels for Utahans.
George has always been involved with the community, whether teaching high school seminary or coaching baseball, basketball or soccer. He is motivated by his sense of civic and community responsibility. George has often spoken to high school civics and history classes.
After graduating from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Pre-law, as well as a minor in Economics, he pursued a Juris Doctorate from Memphis State University. He has always felt that education was a high priority and has instilled that in his five children. Two of his five children—Riley and Michelle Waddoups—both practice law at Robert J. DeBry & Associates.
George has represented many people over the years, recovering over $300 million dollars for his clients in settlements and verdicts, and has reached numerous seven-figure settlements.
One of George’s most notable cases involved a trucking accident which resulted in a wrongful death. George’s client was traveling on the highway when a semi truck made a left turn in front of him. He had little time to react and the impact of the incident killed him. The jury reached a verdict in the case and awarded George’s client and his family $58.5 million dollars. This was a major relief to the victim’s family to help for future expenses that would come as a result of losing their father.
George is also a member of of the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America (APITLA), an organization dedicated to the awareness of safety protocols and trucking regulations for commercial trucking.
Over the 30 years that George has worked at Robert J. DeBry & Associates, he has been recognized and awarded several times for his work. For the last seven years he has received Super Lawyer, and Legal Elite, both are a high degrees awarded to attorneys who are dedicated to outstanding professional and ethical achievement.

George has worked tirelessly in advocating for his clients’ relief through getting justice and obtaining fair compensation from insurance companies.

George enjoys spending time with his five children at Bear Lake, where they like to boat and spend time outdoors. George also enjoys cruising around on his motorcycle, exploring the Midwest.
