Christopher R. Barrus has been an associate attorney for Robert J. DeBry & Associates since early 2013. During his time at the firm he has shown an unparalleled commitment to his clients. It is from getting to know and understand a client’s accident that Chris has gained the valuable insight on how to best help each person.
Before attending law school he studied at the University of Utah, graduating with a degree in biomedical engineering, a rigorous program where he studied the application of engineering concepts applied to medicine and biology. While studying his undergraduate degree, Chris published in “The University of Utah Undergraduate Research Abstracts”.
With this unique background in medical engineering, Chris pursued a law degree from Gonzaga University graduating in 2011 with a Juris Doctorate degree. While attending Gonzaga, Chris was involved in Moot Court, an extracurricular activity where students are able to participate in simulated court proceedings and oral arguments.
Chris joined the Moot Court Honors Council and competed nationally in the Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court competition, arguing in San Francisco and Washington D.C., where he finished second nationally.
Christopher also received the Technology Law Scholarship and served as President of the Gonzaga Intellectual Property Law Association.
Chris’ background in biomedical engineering has given him a unique perspective for helping clients. Chris’ area of focus is personal injury, car accidents, wrongful death, trucking accidents, product liability, medical device, medical malpractice, dog bites, motorcycle accidents, and auto/pedestrian accidents.
Chris works tireless hours perusing cases to ensure each client is receiving proper care and attention. He enjoys helping clients seek retribution after experiencing a traumatic accident.
Chris has joined several key legal associations since becoming an attorney, including the Utah Association for Justice, Salt Lake County Bar Association, Utah Bar Litigation Section, Utah Trial Lawyers, and AVVO Law. Each membership is a commitment to excellence and dedication to justice and equality under the law.
Chris also has the distinction of being awarded The Top 40 under 40 lawyer from The National Trial Lawyers Association every year since 2017.
You usually find Chris at his office, but he also enjoys fishing, camping, boating, biking and soccer. He loves technology and the way it integrates to make our lives easier.
