Zostavax Recall

Have you taken Zostavax to prevent “Shingles”.

The Zostavax vaccine was intended to prevent shingles, but many patients were unaware that the vaccine can induce a new shingles outbreak or exacerbate symptoms in some patients. Some recipients experienced severe side-effects including shingles outbreaks, Guillain-Barre Syndrome, major allergic reactions, and more[1]. Zostavax is no longer considered a safe and effective way to protect people against outbreaks of shingles; due to the severe and sometimes fatal side effects associated with Zostavax, its sale and use have been completely discontinued within the United States since November 18, 2020[2].

Zostavax could lead to severe allergic reactions including:

  • Shingles
  • Gout
  • Guillain-Barre Syndrome
  • Optic Neuropathy
  • Chronic Heart Failure
  • Fluid In The Lungs
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Angioedema
  • Acute Retinal Necrosis

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

For those who have received the Zostavax vaccine before it’s recall, filing a lawsuit against the manufacturing company Merck may help you receive adequate compensation for any damages it may have caused.
