Kigan I. Martineau is the leading intake attorney for Robert J. DeBry. Since joining the firm, he has shown a dedication to helping families across Utah. He frequently visits with clients in their home to ensure that they receive the attention their case deserves. Kigan believes in helping others in the community and always gives individual attention to each client.
Kigan studied International Relations at Brigham Young University. During his time there, he was published in the “BYU Pre-Law Review”, in addition to keeping busy serving as Executive Director on the student counsel.
After graduating from BYU, he attended American University, a private law school in Washington DC, where he earned his Juris Doctorate. While in law school, Kigan worked in the WCL Criminal Justice Clinic; he also competed nationally and served as Executive Board Counsel in Mock Trial. Kigan also served as Staff Editor for “Administrative Law Review”.
During his time at American University Law School, he worked Criminal Defense in the public defender’s office for Montgomery County, Maryland. He spent time advocating for people’s rights and fair justice under the law.
While at the WCL Criminal Justice Clinic in the public defender’s office, he learned the importance of advocacy. He had a high success rate advocating for individuals’ rights and was granted over 80 percent of the motions he filed in the courts.
When Kigan is not at work he enjoys rock climbing and mountain biking. He is also an avid musician.
